Becoming a Friend of the San Marcos Public Library is a simple way to support the library you love—and you get a few great perks along the way.
As a member, you will receive an exclusive invitation to our Sneak Peek Browse before each book sale, giving you first pick of the best finds. You will also have a voice in shaping Friends of the Library programs by voting on activities at our Annual Meeting each spring.
Membership is $25 per year, and your contribution is tax-deductible. Memberships renew annually, running from January through December.

Supporting the San Marcos Public Library and Community
Book Sales
Our organization hosts regular book sales to raise funds that directly support the San Marcos Public Library. These events not only provide affordable books to our community but also foster a love for reading among residents of all ages. Our upcomming Book Sale dates are as follows:
- February 20-22 with Member preview on February 19th
- July 10-12 with Member preview on July 9th
- October 16-18 with Member preview on October 15th
Members of the Friends receive exclusive Book Sale Preview access and are invited to volunteer before, during, and at the conclusion of the booksale to ensure its success.
Pop-Up Book Sales
We host regular monthly pop-up sales outside The Friends storage room in the lobby of the San Marcos Public Library. Keep an eye on the Library Events Page and be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to find out about upcomming Pop-Up Sales.
